Job Description

To support us on our journey, Sinai Health is looking for a respected and progressive leader with extensive Treasury Management experience to join our team. As an integral member of the Finance Department, this treasury role provides leadership in strategic planning and managing operations on wide range of banking, investment, debt, insurance and general accounting functions to ensure Sinai Health has appropriate cash flows to support operations, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with debt covenants. Treasury also plays a lead strategic role in investment and financing matters.


  • Management of daily cash and working capital requirements to support Sinai Health operations
  • Development and management of short-term and long-term bank cash flow forecast to optimize liquidity while maximizing the return on excess cash
  • Development and management of the Sinai Health's investment portfolio and investment policy, including ongoing monitoring and approval of investment manager activities and annual review of investment policy
  • Identify, plan, and manage foreign exchange exposure and cash flow mitigation risks
  • Interest rate risk management
  • Debt facilities management
  • Report weekly Treasury Scorecard capturing bank cash balances, anti-fraudulent activities, compliance reporting, investment summary
  • Administer debt covenants compliance, coordinate annual credit rating review and lead debt planning for new initiatives
  • Preparation of formal written and oral presentations to internal and external decision makers
  • Maintain banking relationships and assess services, fees, technologies and systems are available and appropriate for ongoing and future state treasury functions
  • Manage all bank accounts, online banking users, signing authorities, and banking resolutions
  • Conduct various annual insurance renewals; work with insurance adjusters on property related insurance claims
  • Support period end processes where necessary
  • Assume the lead role or participate on special projects requiring working capital, financing or investment, including, but not limited to:
  • Work with stakeholders and advisors to assess strategic, market, and financial risks
  • Evaluation of financial market or feasibility studies
  • Development of pro-forma financial statements and cash flows including financial analysis to evaluate the
  • financial risks and options
  • Evaluation of impact on working capital, cash and debt covenants

Job Requirements

  • A university degree in business (or related discipline) from a recognized and accredited educational institution
  • Recognized professional designations: CFA required, CTP and CRM considered an asset
  • A minimum of eight years relevant treasury experience in a large complex organization
  • Strong business acumen with solid experience in business management, operations, financial planning, performance measurement and budgeting functions
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial issues to a broad and diverse audience
  • Ability to work and thrive in a changing environment while experiencing financial constraints
  • Capacity to build partnerships, work collaboratively and effectively communicate to diverse groups both within and external to Sinai Health
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to influence business partners
  • Treasury Systems and SAP (highly desirable), Microsoft Office (advanced)
  • Ability to leverage ERP systems and real time information to bring technology solutions
  • Experience with change management; ability to proactively identify issues and generate solutions by critically assessing procedures and challenging the status quo
